04–2016Fluuuid Face was concieved in response to Deleuze and Guattari’s notion that a truly revolutionary potential is possible outside of established boundaries, codes, or territories.
The Fluuuid Face mask became a way for Cieciura to imagine himself as a shifting identity that is able to resist “co-option”—a term that refers to the process by which a dominant capitalist system assimilates dissenting or alternative ideas, movements, or practices.
There lies a (r)evolutionary potential in creating the ‘new’, defined as the circulation of de-coded and de-territorialized flows that resist the facile co-option by re-coding or capturing
